My name is Frida Marklund and I live in Stockholm, Sweden.
I went to my first cat show in May 2001 and there I came in
contact with my first Cornish Rex. I was obviously completely
sold.
In the beginning of June I went to the Scandinavian Winner Show
In Örebro, there I saw Alfons a black-smoke and white CRX,
he was just soooo cute.
I was looking at him several times on Saturday and on Sunday
morning there was a note that he was for sale. I jumped on the
breeders and said that I just had to have HIM. Alfons moved
to me just after midsummer 2001.
Sometimes you just know when it is the right thing ;)
And getting involved with the Cornish Rex is something I will
never regret!! |

When I select a cat for my breeding program it is important to me
that the cat appeals to me, it need to have something extra that attracts
me.
It can be the pedigree or the cat itself in some way, it does not
have to be a showstopper.
But I prefer to breed to topshowquality cats.
I breed only to healthy catswith excellent temperament.
My cats are tested against FIV/FELV on a regular basis, and all are
up to date on all there vaccinations.
I participate in studys regarding cathealth/diseases when I get the
chance.
I don't cage my cats, they have free run of my place. Newborns and
unvaccinated kittens are kept separete until they are vaccinated.
My cats are only kept as indoor cats however I have a balkony that
is kittyprooved.
My goal with my breeding:
To breed healthy, pleasant and beautiful cats, and as I said I strive
for the CFA type.
When I almost exclusively have imports I of course have breedingrestrictions
on the breedingcats that comes from my breeding.
I prefer to sell them as lovely pets and also as showcats if the cat
suitable for that.
The few cats I sell for breeding goes to serious breedingprograms
and to breeders that I really trust.
I think that only a few cats in a litters should go on in breeding,
and I prefer if it is the best once.
I don't want to be a big breeder, because I prefer quality before
quantity, but sometimes more of fewer litters comes along than was
planned originally, since it is animals we have to do with they desides
something that is not always what I had in mind ;)
When I started reading all there is about Cornish Rex I found the
"type" that really attracted right away was the CFA type.
And really it is not much that is diffrent to the FIFe type we have
here in Europe.
A comparison between FIFe and CFA Standard.
So I chose to focus on importing my cats from America and the CFA
and then from wellknown breeders that have distinct type in there
breeding.
The decision to neuter my kittens that are not ment for breeding have
been on my thoughts for a long time, ever since SVERAK took away the
possibility to put kittens with breeding restrictions.
But a incident with person who bought a kitten from one of my males
is what really made the decision a lot easier.

Goofy was the first cat who came to me from Ridgways in California,
and he has really proven himself as well on the shows but also as
a fantastic breeding male for my own breeding as well as for other
breeders who used him.
Several of his offsprings have won many Best In Shows and also one
have also achieved a World Winner and a Scandinavian Winner title.
Goofy himself have the most titles you can ask in a male, the Distinguished
Merit title that proves what a great studmale he have been and Distinguished
Show Merit that also proves that he has all the qualitys that a great
showcat needs. Goofy is nowdays neutered and has started his show
carrer as a neuter.
Sandy is the first red-white stud to enter my breeding. And what a
great cat!! Intense outgoing happy male that sounds like a peacock
when he speaks to me and his girls. He has a awesome muscular body
and a great warm red color and a supercoat, but the most captivating
about him is his Look!! Finally I get something other that black-whites
in my litters :)
Also Sandy has proven to be an amazing studmale. many of them has
Best In Show results and one Cat of the Year no. 1, no. 2 and no.
4 in 2007.
Sandy is neutered and lives as the king on a Siberian Husky kennel.
Now you have some background to Änglarna's. I hope you have a
nice time on my website and check back soon again.
